On our expedition and accommodation courses we provide all meals, hot drinks and snacks. Our menus are simple but superb and will be sent out to you pre course. We take an "as fresh as possible" approach to our food, providing you with quality and local taste. Click here to download our menu document and see what our menu looks like. Let us know at the time of booking if you have specific requirements. There may be occasions when there is a slight variation to our planned menu due to availability. If the time is right, and we're in the right place, we might even catch some fish, forage for Mussels or barter with a small fishing boat for the daily catch.
We only use the best kit. Peak UK are a British company based in Nottinghamshire. We've opted to use this kit because of it's high quality build, durability and comfort. On every trip we supply you with a hooded dry cag, dry trousers, a touring buoyancy aid and a sea kayaking specific spray deck.
Our boats are mid-range sea kayaks. The Wilderness-systems Tempest is a high functioning all rounder. Its great for skills, touring and has plenty of space in the hatches for packing camping gear. The outfitting of the tempest offers lots of adjustment allowing a super comfortable fit for people of all sizes.
We also use Werner adjustable paddles. Making small adjustments to our paddle angle can seriously aid us on the water.
There are things you need to bring with you on our courses. There are too many to list here so we will send you a comprehensive kit list when you book.
When you book a course with us, we'll send through a course specific dossier. You can also download the Ocean Alba Course Dossier here. In addition to the information found on the website Courses page, this PDF will give you further insight to the courses we run.
Don't see a course you like, or the dates don't suit? Get in touch with us via our Contacts page, we can easily and will readily organise a trip to suit you. Tailor made bookings start from just £250 per day for up to 4 people.
We occasionally run trips in conjunction with other sea kayaking or mountaineering companies, don't worry we'll let you know when we're doing that before you book.
We buy all of our equipment from Scottish Kayaks and Paddles, a paddle sports shop based in Stirling. They have a comprehensive stock of everything kayaking. Their web address is: www.scottishkayaksandpaddles.co.uk
